I’m Greg Wehmeyer, founder of VoiceFund, a platform dedicated to revolutionizing AAC for the autism community. As a parent to a non-verbal autistic adult who lacked suitable AAC solutions as a child, I remember the funding hoops we jumped through for the privilege of using a glorified iPad preloaded with a single app that was of little use for my son’s needs. I imagined a world where Spencer and his SLP could collaborate with a software developer to create a solution that would actually help him communicate in class and at home. That’s why I started VoiceFund, a collaborative crowdfunding platform where AAC users, educators, and innovators can work
together to design and crowdfund solutions that truly work for EVERYONE—custom apps and affordable devices built by the community, for the community.
